The elimination auditions for this competition were held at the choir’s rehearsal premises at Federation Estate on Friday last in front of a small but appreciative audience. The competitors were all in fine voice and performed impeccably. The finalists chosen to compete as part of the choir’s concert on Saturday 5th November, are Shania Eliassen, Naomi Flatman and Allessia Pintabona.

Our Singer of the Year finalists demonstrated their talents singing an operatic aria in both halves of the program and I’m sure both choristers and audience were glad that they didn’t have to pick a winner, so good were all the performances.
In the end the distinguished adjudicator, Margaret Arnold awarded the Singer of the Year trophy to coloratura soprano – Shania Eliassen.

Naomi Flatman and Alessia Pintabona received the runner-up prize. We look forward to following the careers of these extremely talented young ladies and hopefully performing with them in future.
